SIFF Cinema and Bite of Seattle converge this weekend....bring a fork!

A delicious movie and some delicious food! How can you resist? SIFF Cinema and Scarecrow video are presenting a BRAND NEW 35mm Scope print of a classic 1961 French film by Alain Resnais called Last Year at Marienbad. Winner of the Golden Lion Award at the 1961 Venice Film Festival, Last Year at Marienbad carries an impressive Internet Movie Database Rating of 7.8 (which means it's an outstanding film!) and you can see it Friday thru Thursday at SIFF Cinema. Support your SIFF Cinema and eat too much food! Yes....the Bite of Seattle is at Seattle Center this weekend and runs until 9pm on Friday night (with Last Year at Marienbad showing at 8pm).....the Bite runs Saturday from 11am thru 9pm (with Last Year at Marienbad showing at 2pm and 8pm)....and the Bite finishes up on Sunday running 11am thru 8pm (with Last Year at Marienbad showing again at 2pm and 8pm). No burping during the movie please!
The Bite of Seattle has free admission, but the food will cost ya. FOOLs know the best deal is "The Alley", this year hosted by Tom Douglas. Great food for $9.50 and proceeds benefit Food Lifeline. Note however, that the hours for "The Alley" differ from the Bite - Friday and Saturday, The Alley is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.  On Sunday, The Alley is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Where is "The Alley"? It's located in Seattle Centers' Alki Courtyard just north of Key Arena and just west of SIFF Cinema.

Other cinematic highlights this week include a 35mm Cinemascope print of the original classic Planet of the Apes at the Grand Illusion, a 35mm print of the classic screwball comedy The Awful Truth (a must-see) from 1937 at SAM and last (but not least) a FOOLs Top Ten favorite from SIFF 2007: Tell No One held over for a second week at the Egyptian (which was the #7 Most Liked film of SIFF 2007).
