Dr. Seuss takes over SIFF Cinema this Saturday morning at 10AM!

The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T plays this Saturday morning at 10AM ONLY! Whatever you do, please do not miss this incredible musical fantasy that gives you a deep look into the crazy imagination of Dr. Seuss. It's the only film Dr. Seuss ever wrote for the screen. He also wrote the lyrics to 9 wonderful songs and also designed the sets that unveil a world that only Dr. Seuss could create. Hans Conreid steals the show as the delightfully maniacal Dr. Terwilliker. One of those rare films that is as delightful an experience for adults as it is for children. A true classic!

SIFF Cinema is definitely the place to spend this weekend!
Saturday provides a monster double feature opportunity! After watching The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T you can enjoy a nice lunch and come back to SIFF Cinema at 2pm and see the epic 3 hour plus The Human Condition Part 3: A Soldier's Prayer.
Sunday also provides a mighty cinematic opportunity. Start at 1pm with The Human Condition Part 3: A Soldier's Prayer and then enjoy a nice dinner and come back to SIFF Cinema at 7:30pm for LIVE MUSIC from the The Devil Music Ensemble which accompanies the SIFF Cinema screening of Red Heroine, a very RARE and cool 1929 Chinese martial arts film. Most of the films from this era have disappeared, so come enjoy one gem that has survived.

If your weekend is taken, then during the week try sneaking away for dinner and a movie at the Central Cinema! SIFF 2007's Golden Space Needle Award winner Outsourced is playing all week at 7pm (all ages) and 9:40pm (21 & over screenings). Enjoy wine, beer and delicious food AS YOU WATCH. Yea! For lovers of beer (like myself and Homer Simpson) their rotating tap is now O'Briens Harvest Ale. Beeeeeer. Yum. Here is a link to their menu. The Central Cinema is located at 1411 21st Ave., Seattle. (206-686-6684). Here's a little tip: They've got a Late-Nite Happy Hour after 9pm Sunday thru Thursday that includes popcorn for a buck. I tell ya, there's nothing like watching a good movie while munching a delicious pizza slice accompanied with a Stout Float (Hale's nitrogen finished Stout and a scoop of Vanilla ice cream on top.). Cinematic heaven.

Sooo...what other 35mm gems are in town showing on a big screen (where they belong) this week? The Northwest Film Forum brings two more early Milos Forman films in NEW 35mm prints: Loves of a Blonde and Fireman's Ball which play on Tuesday & Wednesday ONLY. Meanwhile, the Metro is showing another great WWII film The Big Red One with Lee Marvin on Wednesday ONLY.

There are 2 return arrivals of SIFF 2008 films this week. Battle in Seattle and Towelhead
