SIFF and the FOOLs proudly announce the SIFF Movie Marathon, a benefit for the SIFF Film Center. This marathon won't be an ordinary marathon in which participants run or walk, but rather a movie marathon where you will do what you love most - sit in the dark and watch films!
As a marathon participant, you will reach out and share our passion for cinema, your belief in SIFF's mission, and the importance of building SIFF's new home by asking family, friends, and co-workers to sponsor your efforts. And while one or two small donations may not seem like much, hundreds of donations raised by numerous participants add up fast! There will be premiums and prizes to be handed out, guaranteeing to increase the enthusiasm. Tools will be presented to help you reach your goal, including your own personal web page (supplied by SIFF and the FOOLs), which will be available for your donors to make safe and secure online pledges, as well as providing you and your supporters the ability to track your progress.
Please join us at the Movie Marathon Launch Party on Saturday, January 17. We will begin with a free screening of New In Town (starring Renee Zellweger and Harry Connick, Jr.) at SIFF Cinema at 12:00 noon. After the film (around 2:15pm) we’ll head over to Seattle Center's Alki Room (site of the future SIFF Film Center) for a party with food and drink. There, we will provide marathon details and answer any questions you may have. I encourage you to join in the fun and help make SIFF’s dream become a reality.
