Well, there are plenty of cinematic opportunities this week to lessen any SIFF withdrawal symptoms we may be feeling...my personal doctor (Dr. Strangelove M.D.) has recommended that I watch a couple movies this week to avoid what he calls the "SIFF bends" (which results from rapid cinematic decompression).....Dr. Strangelove provided me with this list......on this list there are films from this years SIFF (we may have missed)....films from SIFF's past (we also may have missed)....there are tasty archivals.....a pair of animated features....an animated shorts package (including a SIFF 2008 short)....and there are two screenings with filmmakers in attendance (for those hankering for a juicy Q&A!)....."no need to go cold turkey" says Dr. Strangelove....."catch a film or two and slowly ease yourself back into a life without press screenings"
Also, if you can only break away this for week for just one film, Dr. Strangelove says.....make it "The Gaucho".
