An anti-American eagle.....it's diabolical!

Yes, anti-American eagles fly into town this week at SIFF Cinema! And it's your American duty to visit SIFF Cinema Thursday night to help Derek Flint (James Coburn) defeat the diabolical minds that have created anti-American eagles! Our Man Flint plays this Thursday ONLY at SIFF Cinema at 7pm.

Three SIFF 2008 films have returned to Seattle this week: Brick Lane, Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson and The Mother of Tears.

There's an overwhelming explosion of great movies playing this 4th of July weekend. There are just way too many movies to choose from this week, so here's a look at the cream of the crop....

From Russia With Love - Not just a new 35mm print, but a new "Pristine Digital Restoration" 35mm print. If you catch only ONE movie this week, make it this one on Saturday afternoon or night ONLY at SIFF Cinema! It's part of a double feature so you also get to see On Her Majesty's Secret Service (which isn't listed as a new print).

To Catch a Thief - Starring Cary Grant and Grace Kelly! Robert Burks won the Academy Award for Best Color Cinematography in 1956 in this Alfred Hitchcock classic. We're promised a brand new 35mm print so his award winning widescreen VistaVision cinematography should look absolutely stupendous on that huge Egyptian Theater screen. It screens Friday and Saturday night at Midnight ONLY. A perfect place to go after the fireworks on the 4th of July.

The Gits - Great documentary showing all week at NWFF. But on Monday, July 7 ONLY at the Landmark's Metro Cinema there will be a screening on the anniversary of Mia Zapata's death, at 8 p.m. Producer Jessica Bender will also be there after the screening for a Q&A. For more information, call 206-781-5755 or buy tickets now at www.landmarktheatres.com. After Party at the Comet (922 E. Pike).
